SILVER Seller in Prato, Italy
Pair of bowls in silver plated, inside they are stove-enameled, a beautiful shade of blue has been used. They are articles by Reed & Barton. Reed & Barton was founded in 1824 in Taunton, Massachusetts, making it one of the oldest private silversmiths in the United States. The company is well known for its high-quality production of silver plated and silver plated gifts and cutlery, the two bowls were produced between 1905 and 1910, but they were used as a prize at a school event in 1985 for the awarding of illustrious pupils as attested by the engraving on one of them: Y.S.N. Distinguished Alumna Award 1985 Virginia M.Brown. Older objects were often used for the award ceremonies to give more value to the prize itself.
