Antique trunk in solid poplar wood (17th century), covered in the second half of the 20th century with black-dyed jute on which the inscription CHANEL N°5 Paris was painted
Handles, nails and hinges are contemporary with the construction period. The studs on the sno lid were applied together with the coating and then dyed black
The bottom of the trunk, at the bottom, was covered with a plywood panel simply to cover the gaps between one axle and the other. These cracks form naturally as the wood ages
Inside, the trunk was deliberately left wooden to make its period visible. We cleaned and polished it internally
Despite its age, overall it is still solid and of great scenic effect
