French School Night Seascape, oil on canvas. This exquisitely crafted painting depicts a group of sailors leaving their vessel at anchor and reaching shore on two boats. The scene unfolds under the light of a full moon; the painter's masterful use of color to emphasize the light and shadows makes this night seascape a truly noteworthy masterpiece. The painting is signed and dated 1963, although unfortunately the signature is difficult to interpret. The frame is contemporary with the painting. Dimensions: Canvas 27 x 22 cm Frame 42 x 37 cm
