Swedish oak chest of drawers produced in the 1960s by String Design AB, a company founded in Stockholm in 1949 and famous for the "String" modular system, an icon of Scandinavian modernism. Alongside the modular shelving, the production included furnishings with essential and functional lines, such as this model with compact proportions. The four drawers are enhanced by carved handles with a geometric profile, integrated into the front, while the slightly tapered legs lighten the structure, giving it impetus. The original manufacturer's label is present inside, a detail that attests to its authenticity. The whole reflects the construction quality and sobriety typical of Swedish design of the period.
