1960s oak chest of drawers with three drawers and round carved handles, designed by Arne Wahl Iversen.
Oak chest of drawers designed by Arne Wahl Iversen in the 1960s, a rigorous example of Scandinavian rationalist design. The structure is compact and well-proportioned, raised on lateral supports with a rectangular section which visually lighten the volume and underline its essential architecture.
A distinctive element are the round handles carved into the front of the drawers: a circular motif with a central horizontal cut that creates a precise and recognizable graphic sign. Arne Wahl Iversen was one of the protagonists of post-war Danish modernism. His work is characterized by formal balance, constructive clarity and attention to detail, with a constant search for synthesis between craftsmanship and serial production. In this chest of drawers a sober but sophisticated design vision emerges, where each element responds to a principle of order and coherence.
