Refined pair of consoles designed by Paolo Buffa, an expression of the cultured and measured elegance that distinguishes post-war Italian design. These furnishings combine noble materials and light proportions in a composition of great decorative balance.
The structure has a linear wooden body, embellished with a front drawer, resting on thin brass legs with a slender and sinuous design. The most distinctive element is precisely the shape of the legs, which curve and cross in the central part creating an effect that is both architectural and very elegant. This detail gives visual movement and lightens the presence of the consoles, making them sophisticated but never heavy.
The tops are made of Carrara marble, a material that adds brightness and value to the whole. The two marble tops are different from each other, a feature that underlines the uniqueness of the natural material and enriches the authentic charm of the couple, while maintaining full stylistic coherence. The dialogue between the warmth of the wood, the brilliance of the brass and the light surface of the marble gives an extremely refined result.
The consoles have been professionally restored, with shellac pad polishing, a traditional process that enhances the depth of the wood, enhances its surface and restores all the finesse of the furniture without altering its historical character.
Perfect in an entrance, on the sides of an important wall, in a living room or in an elegant bedroom, these consoles represent an excellent synthesis of Paolo Buffa's language: sober, decorative and timeless.
Dimensions of each console: 106 x 35 x 88 h cm.
