Charming set of 3 original vintage enamel plaques from the 1940s/50s from Belgium.
These are authentic technical signs used for public safety: the acronym B.I. (Bouche d'Incendie) indicated the fire outlets for the Fire Brigade, while the acronyms V.T. (Voltage/Tension) signaled electrical lines or cables in case of emergency.
Made of metal enamelled in classic cobalt blue with contrasting white characters, they have a splendid patina of age. Signs of wear and oxidation on the back confirm its authenticity and prolonged outdoor use.
