Pair of armchairs in rosewood and leather with padded capitonné seat. “Capella” model by Illum Wikkelsø, Denmark 1960s.
Pair of “Capella” model armchairs designed by Illum Wikkelsø and produced in Denmark in the 1960s, an expression of Nordic modernism in its most mature phase. The rosewood structure is defined by clean lines and balanced proportions, with full armrests and carefully shaped surfaces that enhance the richness of the grain. The leather seats, with capitonné workmanship and generous padding, introduce a soft and welcoming contrast to the rigorous structure. The project reflects Wikkelsø's research into comfort and quality craftsmanship, in dialogue with the Danish tradition of solid wood furniture.
