Large German sculpture from the 18th century. Finely chiselled pine wood work depicting a sacred art subject, a saint in ecstasy resting on a cloud, presumably Saint Teresa. Sculpture for antique dealers and collectors of fabulous size and quality. In beautiful patina, it shows signs of old conservative restorations. Missing hands (see photo) non-coeval wooden base, added later. Finished work from the centre, ideal for inclusion in an important hall or study. Given the age, in good state of conservation.
