Pair of "Ingrid" model armchairs designed by Bruno Mathsson for Dux in the 1960s, with curved and laminated beech wood structure and padded cushions covered in fabric.
Pair of “Ingrid” model armchairs, designed by Bruno Mathsson and produced by Dux in the 1960s. The project reflects the approach of the Swedish designer, oriented towards functionality and comfort through the use of light and flexible structures. The structure is made of curved and laminated beech wood, worked to obtain soft and continuous lines that define armrests and frame in a single formal gesture. This construction technique, typical of the Scandinavian tradition, allows you to combine structural resistance and visual elasticity. The seating system is made up of visible elastic straps, integrated with a green canvas back panel, a functional element that contributes to the support of the cushions and the overall stability of the seat. This construction solution, typical of Mathsson's research, highlights the attention to ergonomics and structural lightness. The cushions, padded and quilted with buttons, are covered with the original red wool fabric and rest freely on the structure, creating a balance between support and softness.
