Splendid and elegant four-drawer domed chest of drawers (commode), an exquisite expression of the Louis XV style. The piece of furniture stands out for its sinuous and moving lines.
Technical and Construction Details
Structure and Veneer: The front and sides feature a refined domed move, beautifully veneered in rosewood and rosewood. The herringbone work creates a pleasant geometric play of opposing grain that enhances the natural brightness of the wood.
Gilded Bronzes: The cabinet is richly adorned with gilded bronze appliques and chiseled in full Rococo taste. The large handles in the shape of leafy scrolls, the finely crafted keyholes, the foot shoes and the lower and side aprons serve as visual structural elements of the highest decorative impact.
Marble top: The upper part is completed by a superb and massive marble top shaped and veined in shades of antique pink, grey and white, with an edge finished in an owl's beak that faithfully follows the curvilinear shape of the piece of furniture.
