The GE375 designed by Hans J. Wegner for Getama represents one of the most successful examples of the Danish designer's ability to create furnishings in which comfort and visual lightness coexist in perfect balance. The teak structure defines the project through clean lines and extremely measured proportions, leaving the materials and the relationship between the volumes to build the character of the armchair. Teak introduces a warm and natural presence, with grains that react to light in a soft and continuous way, while the padding creates a balanced contrast between structure and comfort. Observed in space, the armchair maintains a relaxed and welcoming presence, typical of the Scandinavian Modern language developed by Wegner during the 1960s. The open construction lightens the overall volume and allows light to pass through the furniture, emphasizing the quality of the wood and the precision of the proportions. A project that continues to be contemporary in its naturalness, balance and ability to dialogue with modernist, minimalist or more material environments.
