LARGE embossed copper VASE by EGIDIO CASAGRANDE 1950s Italy by Egidio Casagrande (1911–1962)
Egidio Casagrande was one of the most important and extraordinary Italian master craftsmen of embossed metal of the 20th century.
Training: He also worked and trained in the famous workshop of Luigi Zortea, and then opened his own atelier in Borgo Valsugana.
The style: He is very famous for his works in solid copper and brass (vases, stands, planters, jugs) characterized by virtuosic hammer work. The pronounced pods and the hammered texture of your cake stand are its historic "trademarks". International success: He collaborated in Hollywood for the creation of metal props in historical films (such as Ben-Hur) and his works have been exported all over the world, especially to the United States.
The presence of the original yellow paper label is an enormous commercial added value. These labels were often lost when the copper was cleaned; having kept the bottom intact authenticates the piece 100%
