Large sculptural table lamp in brass and Lucite with Vienna straw, Italy, 1970s Important table lamp with exceptional stage presence, made in Italy in the 1970s. The structure consists of an elegant truncated cone base in polished brass which supports a monumental hemispherical diffuser (Ø 55 cm) in transparent lucite, inside which a refined weave of natural Vienna straw is incorporated. The lighting effect is surprising: the light passes through the vegetal texture creating a warm and sophisticated lighting, transforming the lamp into a true luminous sculpture. The construction quality and originality of the workmanship place this example among the best Italian production of the Seventies, in a design language close to the experiments of designers such as GABRIELLA CRESPI and ROMEO REGA, despite the absence of a marking that allows a definitive attribution. The exceptionally generous dimensions make it ideal as a protagonist piece on a large console, a low table or an important entrance piece of furniture. A rare object, difficult to find on the international market.
