Item description

Flos Papillona is a floor lamp with a simple and modern design. Designed by Tobia Scarpa in 1975, it is a classic from those memorable years which saw the birth of most of the lamps that are still very current today. Born in Venice in 1935, Tobia Scarpa is the son of the famous architect Carlo Scarpa. Together with his wife Afra, Tobia began working in the Venini glass factory in Murano in the 1950s. In 1960 the couple opened their own design studio in Montebelluna, and soon worked together with large companies such as Flos, Cassina, B&B Italia, and Knoll. reading, and uses new materials and cutting-edge technologies. Their design style embraces a resolutely modern aesthetic, whose priority is elegance and comfort, and the pair's products are above all admired for their simplicity and elegance, which makes them easy to combine with more classic designs. FLOS S.p.A. (from the Latin flower) is an Italian company founded in Merano (Italy) in 1962 and specialized in lighting systems.
