A chest of drawers designed by Henning Kjærnulf in the 1960s, combining the functionality of a storage unit with some of the most recognizable details of Danish design of the period. The teak structure extends vertically through six large drawers, creating a smooth and well-proportioned front. The circular handles, arranged laterally, discreetly interrupt the surface of the fronts and become the distinctive detail of the ensemble. The teak grain runs through the various drawers with natural variations in tone and pattern, adding movement to the composition. The body, raised on slender legs, allows the structure to breathe and lightens its presence, while the slightly rounded corners define a softer profile. A minimalist construction, in which the material and a few well-designed elements are enough to characterize the piece. Measuring 120 cm high and 85 cm wide, it is a versatile solution for the bedroom, but it can also fit into an entryway, study, or living room. The six drawers offer considerable storage capacity while maintaining a relatively compact footprint. A particularly successful example of mid-century Danish design, where formal research remains at the service of everyday use. The project is part of Kjærnulf's production, for which various types of chests of drawers and storage units in teak and oak are documented.
