The Ara floor lamp is a contemporary masterpiece of Italian lighting, designed by Ilaria Marelli for the prestigious brand Nemo in 2004. A winner of the prestigious "Light of the Future" award in its debut year, Ara is celebrated for its clean, monolithic presence and its highly functional dual-lighting system. The structure consists of a vertical anthracite-finished body that houses an adjustable rotating diffuser in the upper section. This allows for a double lighting effect: a powerful indirect uplight toward the ceiling and a customizable, diffused wash of light along the vertical axis. The geometric rigor of the design-a slender "L" shape-makes it an architectural element rather than just a fixture, capable of defining the space it inhabits. Ilaria Marelli is one of the leading voices in contemporary Italian design, and the Ara family remains one of Nemo's most iconic collections. This lamp represents the perfect transition into the 21st-century aesthetic, where high-performance technology meets minimalist luxury. Thanks to its slim profile and sophisticated dual emission, the Ara lamp is ideal for executive offices, high-end residential living rooms, or minimalist galleries. It provides exceptional lighting versatility, from intimate ambient moods to bright, indirect illumination.
