Carlo Domenici, one of the leading exponents of the Gruppo Labronico (a group of painters founded in Livorno and active since 1920 with the aim of promoting Livorno art), dedicated his painting to the Tuscan landscape, focusing on three areas in particular: the Maremma, with its farmers and animals working in the fields; his hometown of Livorno; and the island of Elba, where he lived in his final years until his death.
Here is a countryside landscape near the sea, undoubtedly Maremma, with an ox-drawn cart passing by: the typical subject of Domenici's work is rendered with his style of rapid, bold brushstrokes.
Presented in a frame.
