Oil on canvas. These are four small paintings (each measuring 30 x 24 cm) presented in a single frame, all signed at the bottom.
They depict four female figures in elegant street clothes, seated, two of them at a table on which a seemingly empty bottle stands.
The women's faces are distinctive, with red cheeks and noses and dull eyes, accompanied by rather relaxed poses: perhaps the ladies have overindulged in a few alcoholic beverages.
They are therefore ironic representations, but in a lively, witty way (the first figure on the right is wearing an almost clownish bowler hat!), expressing the magical realism that imbues Uber Coppelli's veristic subjects.
