Art Nouveau coffee table in iron and glass, 1940s
A square coffee table, in wrought iron supporting a sheet of tempered glass, originally designed in the 1940s in France. The organic swirling pattern of the distressed iron legs, redolent of the Art Nouveau movement that preceded its creation by fifty years, flow from each corner into a spinning top-shaped nib. In addition to being an excellent indoor coffee table, this piece would also look amazing in an outdoor setting, due to the weatherproof nature of the forged iron. WEAR: Some discolouration and patina, as is to be expected given its age. The glass has been replaced over the last 10years but it has a few very minor scratches.
