Item description
Important ancient oil painting on canvas of the Venetian school of the second half of the seventeenth century. Subject a beautiful young virgin Mary in prayer. Mary is depicted with extreme delicacy, note the refined execution of the features of the young face depicted in serene prayer. She is dressed in the typical colours of the iconography of the time, red is also a symbol of her divine nature and Jesus and the holy martyrs dressed in red. The mantle is blue with the stars to symbolize the heavenly vault. This painting is still with its original canvas and original frame has never undergone restoration.
