Soriana armchair designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Cassina, 1969. Two front wheels, wood panel, interior upholstery, steel vise, original dark blue/black chenille upholstery. One armchair is in excellent condition, the second has two small patches on the back as highlighted in photos. Custom upholstery available. A true style icon, Soriana was designed in 1969 by Afra and Tobia Scarpa and received a Compasso d'Oro the following year. Characterized by abundant curves, Soriana is wrapped in a generous upholstery that is secured by a large metal vise to form soft folds around the entire body. The aesthetic is further enhanced by stitching made from covered buttons on both the seat and back cushions. Seat height: 38 cm
