Item description

Old German painting from the end of the 17th/beginning of the 18th century. Oil painting on canvas depicting battle between Western and Arab knights with a good pictorial hand. Painting of great dynamism rich in decorative elements, horses and splendid armour (see photo). Wooden frame, not contemporary, carved and gilded with pleasant decoration and two colour fades (top and left corner, see photo). Work attributable to the German painter Christian Reder known as Monsu Leandro (1656-1729), lacking authentication. Painting that has recently undergone a conservative restoration, re-tinting, replacement of the frame and restoration of the colour in some points (see photo). Part of a pendant (see photo and ask for block price if available). In good condition with some signs of restoration. Light painting H 34 x W 63 cm.
