Item description

Old Flemish painting from the 17th century. Oil painting on canvas depicting a religious subject, a Pietà with the dead Christ lying on Mary's legs and two Saints behind. Painting of great size and impact for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of antique sacred art. Modern wooden frame carved and gilded with beautiful decoration. Painting of great pictorial intensity, finely represented in every detail. It has an inscription in the lower left corner, currently being studied (see photo). Work that has recently undergone a conservative restoration, re-tinting, replacement of the frame and re-colouring in several places (see photo). In beautiful patina, painting in good state of preservation with some signs of time. Light painting H 140 x W 95 cm.
