Item description

Antique Italian painting from the 17th century. Oil painting on canvas of the Venetian school depicting religious subject The Resurrection of Lazarus of excellent pictorial hand. Painting of beautiful size and pleasant impact, for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of ancient sacred art. The painting is rich in characters and decorative elements with a pleasant background of classical Renaissance architecture (see photo). The work depicts two scenes at the same time. The one in the foreground with Jesus next to Martha and Mary during the miracle of the resurrection of Lazarus. The second scene on the right depicts the supper that took place a few days later in honour of Jesus (see photo). The painting is adorned with a wooden frame, not contemporary, carved and gilded (see photo) with beautiful decoration. The work has undergone a conservative restoration, re-tinting, frame replacement and colour restoration in some points (see photo). Painting in overall good state of preservation. Light painting H 118 x W 101 cm.
