Item description

French Empire chest of drawers in mahogany feather with Belgian black marble top. The front is divided into three large drawers adorned with finely chiselled gilt bronze floral motifs. The bottom drawer is smaller than the others and is embellished with a central frieze with the head of a jellyfish. The two sides feature two mahogany feather columns terminating in Corinthian capitals superimposed by finely chased gilt bronze putti figures. Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen using traditional handmade shellac and alcohol method. Provenance: Early 19th century France. Document: Certificate of authenticity.
