Old Italian oil painting on canvas circa 1840. Portrait of a young girl. The girl is dressed in nineteenth-century clothing: a very sober day dress but revealing an aristocratic position in society. High artistic quality to note the precision in the details. Very beautiful is the embroidered lace cap, a very fashionable accessory in those years. The satin bow is made with great precision. The face is serene and the cared-for hands show great attention to physical appearance. Painting sold unframed. The canvas has been re-lined.
