Item description

Old German painting from the second half of the 19th century. Oil painting on canvas, first canvas, depicting portrait of young woman in elegant evening dress of excellent painterly hand. Finely carved, gilded and chiselled 20th century wood and plaster frame of fabulous decoration. A beautifully sized and pleasing painting for antique dealers, interior designers and collectors of 19th century portraits. It has a difficult-to-read signature in the top right-hand corner (see photo) and a small plate on the back of the frame with the inscription Hans Feuerbach (1829-1880) referring to the German painter Anselm Feuerbach, lacking authenticity. A painting of excellent quality finished to the smallest detail, with great pictorial intensity. It has undergone a small intervention to restore the colour in some points (see photo). In beautiful patina, overall in good state of preservation. Light painting H 63,5 x W 49 cm.
