Item description

Antique Italian portrait from the first half of the 18th century. Oval oil painting on rectangular canvas, depicting a charming lady, a noblewoman in an elegant dress with an excellent painting hand. Painting of exquisite workmanship and character, note the skill with which the painter has painted the hairstyle, the clothing and the jewellery down to the smallest detail (see photo). Non-coeval lacquered and gilded wooden frame of beautiful decoration, with some minor signs of time. Work that has undergone conservative restoration during the 20th century, with re-staining and repainting in places. Overall in a good state of preservation.
