Napoleon III style wooden chest of drawers with marble top, 19th century
A three-drawer chest of drawers with a structure panelled in exotic woods and inlaid with fine woods surmounted by a peach-flower marble top. The front is marked by three prominent drawers, both graphically emphasised by inlays depicting gallant scenes. On the sides, the same structural layout is repeated through the skilful juxtaposition of precious woods on the mirroring. Typical donkey-back feet are embellished with finely chiselled gilded bronze socks. The two cantons are embellished with large bronze elements depicting a woman's bust.
