SILVER Seller in Alessandria, Italy
Beautiful and important pair of large antique oval oil on canvas paintings dating from around the second half of the 18th century. Splendid portrait of husband and wife. Excellent pictorial quality with great attention to detail. The frame bears the names of the families of origin with their heraldic coats of arms. Of particular importance is the family of the young noblewoman belonging to an ancient and important Italian noble lineage, the Anguissola. This noble lineage had important affairs in the northern Italian city of Piacenza and many of its members became important figures in the city's history. The large contemporary gilded frame accompanying the paintings is also beautiful. Beautiful to add to a collection of antique portraits. We recommend that you take a close look at all the attached photos. Measures with frame 116 x 92
