Pair of Empire-style bronze candelabra, 19th century
The design of this pair of candelabra unravels from the finely chiselled burnished bronze figure and its perfect anatomy, covered only by a shy veil that encircles its chest, shoulders and intimate parts. Ideally, the two figures hold a central stump from which five chiselled and gilded bronze arms open. The bases are a mixture of decorative elements, embellished on the sides by relief ornamentation, again of neo-classical scope. Condition: Very good condition. Provenance: France (1880/90) Measurements: 27cm diameter. Height: 65cm. Document: Certificate of Authenticity
