Item description

Antique Italian painting from the 17th century. Oil on canvas painting depicting religious subject Tribute of the Money by an excellent painterly hand. Beautifully sized and pleasantly decorated painting adorned with 20th century carved, lacquered and gilded wooden frame. Work of great pictorial intensity, fabulous the Middle Eastern headdress and the expressiveness in Peter's face (see photo). A painting of excellent proportion, easily placed in various places in the home, for antique dealers and collectors of old religious paintings. Delicate painter's hand in the use of light to illuminate the faces and robes (see photo). Work that has undergone conservative restoration, re-tinting and colour restoration in some places (see photo). Painting in good condition. Light painting H 72 x W 61 cm.
