PLATINUM Seller in Milano, Italy
Pair of "Ducrot" nightstands supported by turned feet, in the lower part they present a compartment supported by two columns, on which rests the upper body with door and drawer; made of mahogany, they are adorned with gilded carvings, the door is painted with cherubs, the upper shelf is made of marble. Vittorio Ducrot took over the management of his stepfather's furniture factory in 1902, renaming it "Studio Ducrot," and succeeded in establishing himself more and more in the field of handcrafted and industrial production of Sicilian furniture. Specializing in the design and manufacture of mass-produced furniture, he availed himself of the collaboration of some of the most important artistic personalities of the time. These certainly included Ernesto Basile, an architect who served as its art director in the early twentieth century, leading the company to international success.
