Item description

Italian bas-relief sculpture from the 20th century. Plaster work depicting religious subject Original sin, copy of one of the ten panels of the Genesis story in the Basilica of San Petronio in Bologna from the early 15th century by Maestro Jacopo della Quercia. Work in beautiful patina that slavishly reproduces, but to a slightly reduced extent, one of the Tuscan master's masterpieces. Bas-relief for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of Italian sculpture. Finely chiselled scagliola showing small signs of wear, structurally sound. Object of considerable weight fitted with two metal hooks. Once hung, it is advisable to add a support at the bottom for added security. In good condition.
