Item description

Old Flemish painting from the 17th century. Oil on panel work, pasted on multilayer panel, depicting religious subject Ecce Homo of good painterly hand. Painting of great size and impact ideal for inclusion in an important salon or study. Painting complete with modern wooden frame applied to the side of the work (see photo). Painting with a dark background that creates a strong contrast with the bright colors of the robes and the carnal of Christ (see photo). Painting of great pictorial intensity and pathos, for antiquarians, interior decorators and collectors of ancient sacred art. Fabulous the suffering face of Christ, bound and crowned with thorns, painted at the moment when Pontius Pilate, behind him, shows him to the crowd. Board showing some color falls and signs of restoration work and color recovery (see photo). In fair condition with signs of time. In need of restoration. Light painting H 110.5 x W 79.5 cm.
