Item description
Oil painting from the second half of the 17th century depicting the Holy Family. In the foreground Mary holds Jesus while he receives a small cross from the young John, also in the arms of his mother, St. Elizabeth. Above them St. Anne and St. Joachim in contemplation; above, in the left corner, the Holy Spirit. The composition is enriched by the presence of putti with garlands of flowers, a large carved vase, and a landscape with buildings on the left. The work has undergone conservation restoration, canvas repairation, frame replacement, and color restoration in some places. Wooden frame not coeval, recently gilded. The painting without the frame is 170 cm high and 135 cm wide.
