Item description
Antique Italian painting from the 17th century. Oil on canvas painting depicting religious subject Portrait of a prelate by a good painterly hand. Nicely sized and attractively decorated painting adorned with a non-coeval (adapted to the painting) carved and gilded wooden frame. Work of great character, finely painted clothes and details, from the inkwell on the table to the bible in the character's hands (see photo). Painting that has undergone conservative restoration, re-staining, replacement of the frame and repainting in several places (see photo). Painting in good condition with some signs of time. Light painting H 73.5 x W 58.5 cm.
