Oil painting on canvas depicting a genre scene of peasants in celebration, made in Italy in the 17th century. This subject is typical of the Bamboccianti school: in fact, many Flemish and Italian painters active in Rome during this period took as their reference the artist Pieter van Laer, known as Bamboccio, and devoted themselves to depicting scenes of everyday life, especially of people in humble conditions. The work has undergone a conservative restoration with frame replacement, canvas repairation and color restoration in some spots. The frame is from the 20th century in carved and lacquered wood and shows some signs of time. Without the frame the painting measures 59 cm x 114 cm.
