Item description

Oil on canvas signed Silbert, Marie Josè Jean Raymond painter between 1862 and 1939. The painting depicts a scene set in the sheepfold where the shepherd boy is resting in the midst of his flock. The artist was born in Aix-en Provence, and the Musée D'Alger conserves a gypsy head of him. Reported by Benezit on page 600 of volume XIX. Restored period frame, gilded and chalked with decorations. Measurements including frame: 70 x 87 x 7 cm.
