Antique Spanish painting from the 18th century. Oil painting on canvas depicting religious subject, Adoration of Saints with Christ and the Virgin Mary, of good painterly hand. The painter places numerous saints in the lower part, including St. Francis recognisable by his stigmata, St. Bonaventure with the iconographic attribute of the cardinal's hat, St. Francis of Paola depicted as an old man with a beard and typical habit, St. Anthony of Padua with the lily and St. Clare with the monstrance (see photo). Touching is the depiction of the affections with Christ holding the hand of his mother Mary while blessing the saints in veneration. A painting of great size and impact adorned with a non-coeval wooden frame, lacquered and gilded, of beautiful decoration, with some minor colour fading (see photo). Painting rich in characters and decorative elements, numerous references to the iconography of the saints in the lower part of the painting (see photo). Work that has undergone conservative restoration, re-staining, frame replacement and colour repainting in several places. Ideal painting for a large salon or study, for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of antique religious paintings. In good condition. Light painting H 119 x W 119 cm.
