Ernesto Treccani born in Milan on 26 August 1920, son of Senator Giovanni Treccani degli Alfieri, founder of the Treccani Institute, began at a very young age to be part of the artistic avant-garde and anti-fascist groups ... After the Resistance, in which he actively participated, he was the animator of the 'Pittura' group and editor of the magazines 'il 45' and 'Realismo', directed by Raffaele De Grada. In '78 he set up the Fondazione Corrente, a centre for cultural initiatives, exhibitions and debates in the various fields of culture and art, as well as a centre for the collection and study of documents relating to the period between the birth of the movement and the years of Realism. In 1982, he had a monographic presence at the collective exhibition Maestri e Giovani at the Centro d'Arte Cultura e Costume in Milan, with Mauro Reggiani, Ottone Rosai, Galliano Mazzon, among others, and the young Nino Bonacina and Lino Riccardi. In 1989, the City of Milan dedicated an extensive anthological exhibition to the artist at Palazzo Reale, while another important retrospective of his works was hosted at the Bandera Foundation in Busto Arsizio in 2003. ...
