French oil painting on canvas, "in prima tela", depicting a country village with characters and animals. Signed and dated 1899 at lower right (see photo). Painting of exceptional size and impact showing some old conservation restoration (see photo); overall in fair condition. Equipped with beautifully decorated carved and gilded wood and plaster frame with some missing decoration (see photo). Size without frame: 114 cm x 162 cm.
