Oil painting on canvas from the 17th century depicting a Sibyl, excellently painted. The woman is depicted frontally in medium close-up pose, with turban on her head, hands resting on a book, face in a slight twist and eyes turned upward to the sky (see photo).
Painting complete with expertise - dated January 25, 2022 - by professor and art historian Alberto Cottino, who refers it to painter Flaminio Torri (1620-1661) and collaborator.
It has undergone conservation restoration, frame replacement, color restoration in some spots and has been restretched (see photo).
Adorned with non-coeval wood and plaster frame, carved and gilded; redecorated in the 20th century. Size without frame: 70 x 57 cm.
