Item description
Painting on canvas titled "The Palace of the Marquises" made by Giulio Boetto in August 1955. Signed and dated at lower left. The work depicts a glimpse of Saluzzo architecture, particularly the so-called Palazzo del Carretto, which is depicted in the foreground in soft colors. This type of subject is typical of the author, as most of his works are set in Saluzzo, a city in the Cuneo area that he loved. Giulio Boetto (Turin, 1894 - Turin, 1967) attended the Accademia Albertina in Turin and made his debut in 1919 at the Turin Quadriennale. His works are in the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Turin and at the Saluzzo Civic Museum.
