Item description

Early 20th-century German oil painting on canvas ("in prima tela") depicting a wooded landscape with a view of a river. Signed at lower right (see photo) "Franz Bombach" (1857-1933); lacking authentication. Horizontally unfolding work of great size and impact; characterized by soft colors and pleasant perspective. Adorned with beautifully decorated, carved and gilded modern wooden frame. In good condition and with beautiful patina. Size without frame: 98 x 198 cm.
