Mahogany feather Empire secrétaire with gilded bronze grafts, 19th century
Antique French Empire Secretaire in mahogany feather with gilded bronze fittings. The front is characterised at the top by an under-top drawer highlighted by a gilt bronze plaque depicting a chariot. Below this drawer is a hinged door with a series of small drawers and compartments inside. The lower part features two doors with three drawers inside. Two important columns with a finely chiselled gilded bronze element at the base end with two Doric order capitals in gilded bronze. Provenance France, 19th century. Measurements: 95x45 cm, H 143 cm.
