Six Biedermeier chairs and extendable table, 19th century. The Biedermeir style spread among the German and Austrian bourgeoisie between 1815 and 1848 and replaced the Empire style by eliminating superfluous decorations and lightening colors with the use of light woods and briar-roots such as walnut, mahogany and cherry. The table is made of blond walnut wood with black decoration; the structure has a central leg with three feet and a round base that can be opened with an extension leaf. Maximum width: 168 cm. The six chairs, also made of blond walnut, have decorated black fabric seats. The austere, no-frills style makes the table understated and elegant, ideal for inclusion in modern settings. Both table and chairs are authentic and have no flaws, just some inevitable signs of time and use.
