Pair of sanguine engravings "Automn" and "Summer" by Francesco Bartolozzi, 18th century. Engravings in the dotted manner, printed on laid paper with sanguine ink. The engraver Francesco Bartolozzi, born in Florence in 1727 and died in Lisbon in 1815, is among the most famous and appreciated Italian engravers; he successfully interpreted the various carving methods: etching, burin, dotted manner. Wagner's student in Venice, he then moved to London where he found international success and became the owner of his own workshop.
