Set of four aquatint etchings with very fine coeval watercolor coloring depicting fox hunting scenes, circa mid-19th century.
The author is Henry Thomas Alken, English painter and engraver, born in Westminster on 12 October 1785 and died on 7 April 1851. He was known mainly for his hunting and sporting subjects; his most prolific period of painting and drawing occurred between 1816 and 1831.
Placed in beautiful 19th century walnut veneered frames with antique blown glass.
